Restoring Bertie Part 1

 

Bertie Beetle has now been with us for around two months. Due to other projects not a large amount of work has been done on the bug. Now that other projects are coming to an end, work has resumed on bertie today.

 

 

When Bertie arrived we resolved some electrical problems so that the car would run. However there are still many outstanding problems with the electrics. When Bertie arrived there was a stereo and speakers fitted this meant that there was a large amount of wiring. To make the repairs on the electrics easier they were removed. We are now also aware that he will need a new alternator as the battery is not charging. Most of the wiring will be replaced this will be to avoid future problems.

 

As well as working on the electrics we have also ordered some new parts such as the alternator, paint and filler. We are also bidding on some chrome bumpers which include mounting brackets.

 

We hope to make a large amount of progress in the next few months.
