The Goodwood FOS is the epitome of motorsport heritage, the Festival of Speed event is fast approaching in only five weeks, we will be trackside ruminating in all things automotive.
The theme for this year's show is Peaks of performance - Motorsports game changers, celebrating the fastest, most powerful and most expensive and or complicated racing machines and the reins which they broke and how that affected the rules governing these beasts and how the official rules had to be changed e.g. Group B rally.
Classic cars are all the rage so we thought it was about time to review one of the upcoming classics the Volkswagen Golf Mk2 GTI, the hot hatch legend if you will, this particular Mk2 is our very own car, the 16 valve 1.8. The older Golf cars have now become iconic fast catching up with the Beetle etc, they are now a very desirable car, classic and retro and of great interest to the classic car collector.
Now as you would expect this Golf isn't like the new ones as you'd expect, however how different do you think it really is? The answer is extremely different, it's considerably bigger, especially the later models, no driving assists and nowhere near as economical, but a whole lot more fun.

Courtesy of Vauxhall we were able to review the Corsa 1.0L Turbo - the small hatch back with a punch, as we found out and it's a review unlike any other as it's our first.
At first glance we were genuinely surprised by the calibre of the car, especially for its size and the market it is targeted at. The first thing you have to ask yourself is why choose the Vauxhall Corsa over say the Fiesta EcoBoost? Well that's what we're here to find out.
The Geneva Motor Show is half way through and what a selection of cars we have seen so far. Everything from Ferraris to Fords, there really has been something for everyone. PSA owners of both Peugeot and Citroen are set to acquire GM owned Vauxhall / Open. News broke earlier this week and has been confirmed by both parties, however both stressed the outcome is not certain and stress that an arrangement has not yet been reached.
The Vanquish S is a stunning car in it's own right, however this particular incarnation is a new level of beauty.
Possibly one of the prettiest Aston Martins ever made, in my opinion. The Red Arrow inspired car is one of only ten being commissioned by Aston Martin, all featuring unique exterior and interior styling, all in the name of the RAF's most prestigious aerobatics team.
With vast improvements to its competitors in recent years, the Vauxhall Insignia is looking a little dated. Ranking low in its class behind the Ford Mondeo, Audi A4, BMW 3 Series and Jaguar XE, Its time for an update.
