Rally or Luxury interior?

The Mk 1 Golf has what you call a sparce interior, basically it has door panels, two buckets and some blocks of wood bolted to the shell, it appears someone had the idea to build a replica rally car or were going to make a track, in which case the question is why do it with a 1.1?

We have already purchase full leather recaro front seats, the Cobra Streetlines already fitted are a professional bucket, therefore no comfort, also they are faded, and the padding has slipped, generally they look a bit hammered. The Recaros on the otherhand are British racing green and black, and are in excellent condition, wiith the exception of a mouse hole.

The idea we have is to add a plush carpet, possibly a roll cage, four point harnesses and if we can source one an Audi TT dash.

These are the seats that came with the car, we are assuming the subframes will be similar meaning it will be relatively easy to fit the Recaros.

The car already has a GTI steering wheel, but we have also bought a Momo wheel, therefore all that is needed is a boss. The door panels look to be in pretty good condition apart from the wholes cut for speakers.
